If you want to block certain websites on
your computer without any software then this trick can be very helpful to you.You can block any
number of websites and if blocked they cannot be opened in any browser like google chrome,firefox,opera
and Internet explorer.
For this trick we will edit the host file of the windows and will use the Ip address 127.0.0.1
(i.e localhost).
Whenever somebody will try to open the blocked website the user will be redirected to local host.This trick works in windows xp,vista and windows 7
1. Run notepad as admin
2. Now under file press open and goto C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc
and find the file “hosts”.
3. When this hosts file is opened in Notepad, at the end of the file you will see something like “127.0.0.1 localhost”.
4. Under “127.0.0.1 localhost” just add another website URL that you want to block.
*Example
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.2 www.amazon.com
127.0.0.3 www.facebook.com
